The company is said to have used such technology for the first time in 2018.
“In 2022, we were forced to suspend the training of our power engineers in repairs under operating voltage, as all resources are aimed at repairing the electrical infrastructure damaged due to enemy attack and return of light to Ukrainians. Now we are gradually returning to projects for the development and application of innovative technologies in networks . Including repairs without shutdown,” said DTEK Grids CEO Alexander Fomenko.
The training of power engineers, depending on the complexity of the work, lasts from three days to three months. It takes place at special training sites in Ukraine and Poland. From 2018 to 2022, more than 1,000 of the company’s power engineers have mastered the repair method without shutdown.
In 2023 alone, DTEK electrical engineers carried out 16 thousand repairs without power outages for consumers in Kyiv, Kyiv, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
The energy holding plans to scale up this project and increase the volume of work without disconnecting customers.
“But for this, at the national regulator level, an appropriate resource must be given to the company’s investment program, and at the state level, changes must begin in the regulatory framework that controls the training of engineers power and the performance of such work. in networks,” said the company.
Earlier it was reported that DTEK presented the concept for the development of “smart grids” using the example of the Kyiv region. This region can be the basis for the modernization of the network in all regions of Ukraine.
