It is indicated that an increase in the amount of electricity consumption by industry and, as a result, the growth of the national economy became possible, in particular, thanks to the stable operation of the energy system.
“In November, industrial enterprises consumed electricity by more than 25.7% compared to the same period in 2022 (2.26 billion kW compared to 1.79 billion kW). In December, consumption increased even more – by 37.6 % (2 , 34 billion kW compared to 1.69 billion). kW in 2022),” the message said.
The population’s electricity consumption has also increased. In December 2023, Ukrainians consumed electricity more than 11% more than in the same period in 2022.
“It is possible to achieve such indicators thanks to a large-scale repair campaign in energy facilities, coordinated by the Ministry of Energy, and, as a result, stable operation of generation,” the department explained.
In particular, nuclear power plants produced 10% more electricity than planned according to the UES forecast balance for 2023.
Hydroelectric power plants exceeded forecast electricity production by 37%. Alternative energy sources also slightly improved production forecasts, producing 2% more than the forecast volume.
At the same time, thermal power plants showed a significant deviation from the forecast development indicators. Thermal power plants produced 24% less electricity than predicted. For thermal power plants this figure is 10% lower.
Earlier this week it became known that Ukraine provided emergency aid to Poland. Poland’s energy system has a surplus of electricity and asks neighboring countries for help in consuming it.
