The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the British organization TheCityUK have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the development of the Ukrainian market for financial and related professional services through City-Ukraine Hub. On behalf of Ukraine, the document was signed by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reported this on Wednesday, January 24.
Ukraine will adopt the best British experience in restoration and development, the official noted.
According to the signed memorandum, the collaboration will aim, in particular, to:

facilitating access of Ukrainian enterprises to long-term financing;

building the potential of the private sector in Ukraine. The direction will include the implementation of corporate partnership programs, in particular programs to support small and medium-sized enterprises;

assistance to the government and other authorities in attracting foreign direct investment and promoting the growth of Ukrainian business.
“The Memorandum underlines the commitment of the financial and related professional services industry in the UK to actively support Ukraine’s economic recovery,” said Bruce Carnegie-Brown, Chairman of TheCityUK Management Council.
London Stock Exchange Director General Julia Hoggett is committed to continued support for Ukraine’s long-term economic transformation.
“By exchanging knowledge and experience, as well as creating an ecosystem of financial markets, we can together help strengthen Ukraine’s capital markets and develop its financial sector. We hope that our further cooperation will help to attract both public and private capital to Ukraine,” he told the official
As reported, by the end of 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover will reach $99.4 billion. Our country imported goods worth about $63.5 billion, and exported goods worth $36 billion.
