The FAVBET team is actively working despite the information attacks

In 2020, a historic event took place – the gambling business was legalized in Ukraine, which began to actively invest large amounts of funds in Ukraine.

We spoke with Chief Human Resources Officer Sergey Koshil about the difficulties FAVBET faced at the start of the war, how it refocused its work and how it helps internally displaced people and Ukraine as a whole.

1. In Ukraine, the legal gambling business began to actively grow. However, the war shattered the plans of almost the entire country. Tell us how the war affected FAVBET?

Yes, unfortunately, on February 24, we all began to live in a new reality.
In retrospect, it can be said that literally every day departments have to adapt their work to the surrounding changes. Fortunately, at the current moment (in June) the business situation has become more predictable: we have an understanding of how and where to move, while retaining employees.

2. How do you organize the work of company employees? How many have gone abroad?

The first week is the hardest: employees are moving, sometimes they don’t interact. So far, 40% of employees are located in Kyiv or the region. In general, 88% of the company’s staff in Ukraine, 12% – abroad.

3. How do you help the state and army today? In fact, almost no one stands aside in such a difficult situation.

From the beginning of the war, the entire FAVBET Tech team became an IT army and fought on the country’s cyber front; logistics routes were built to deliver more than 100 tons of humanitarian aid; a significant amount, estimated in the millions, was transferred to ZSU and the GO “Turn Back Zhivim”; the FAVBET office became a bomb shelter, and the company’s warehouses became humanitarian hubs.

4. In 2020, you created the FAVBET Foundation. How is he involved in helping the state?

95% of the fund’s projects are aimed at helping the country and internally displaced people, supporting the army and rehabilitating wounded soldiers. We also continue to patronize the two orphanages. Previously, they participated in the state program for the digitalization of libraries, but, unfortunately, due to the war, the process was temporarily suspended.

5. There have been accusations in the media that FAVBET is reducing its taxes and showing losses. What can you say in your defense?

Any financial information must be supported by complex facts and figures. Accusations from someone with no understanding of the business and no access to the company’s internal reporting are baseless and manipulative. I exclude the option that the author “made a mistake” or had the wrong material for the article, because. almost absurd in the article. The only question that arose was what was the purpose of these publications?

6. How many employees are actually registered with the company? Are there people working as “freelancers” or outsourcing, under employment contracts?

To answer this question, you need to understand that FAVBET is a diversified handle. If we talk about specific areas of business, then they have the appropriate gaming licenses for operation in Ukraine, and the number of employees working in them reaches several hundred.

If we are talking about the business area for developing IT solutions, there may be other forms of engagement: freelancing, project work, etc. This format of interaction is typical for this industry: for such employees, we are a “client” who orders their services for a project (short-term or long-term). At the same time, they can work in parallel with other companies, without limiting themselves to one permanent place of work.

7. Are gambling business information attacks against PR?

I can’t answer for other companies, but specifically FAVBET – yes, these are paid articles to damage our reputation. Moreover, these information attacks are aggregated in a relatively primitive way, which speaks more about their manipulativeness. The information that we are avoiding paying taxes or working in the market of the aggressor country is unfounded and not supported by the facts.

I can’t speak for other companies, but specifically about FAVBET – so, I paid for the statistics in a way that would damage our reputation. Moreover, these information attacks are grouped in a primitive way, it is more necessary to talk about their manipulativeness. The information about those who deceived us to pay tax in the market of the aggressor country is unsupported and not supported by the facts.
