The cash dollar began to gradually decline after the collapse of the American currency in the interbank market.
The hryvnia exchange rate slightly strengthened against the dollar in the cash market on the last working day of the week. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Friday, December 22.
Thus, the average dollar exchange rate decreased by 5 kopecks – to UAH 38.20. The euro exchange rate increased by another 5 kopecks – to 41.95 hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 37.70 UAH, and euros for 41.25 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency rate was at the level of 37.62-37.64 (buying and selling) – a decrease of 6 kopecks compared to the opening of the previous day.
We remind you that the day before the official dollar and euro rates set new historical highs. So, the dollar exchange rate is currently set at 37.5964 UAH per dollar. The euro exchange rate is 41.2846 UAH/euro (+0.2182 UAH).
Meanwhile, the National Bank explained the weakening of the hryvnia, which occurs in the second half of December.
