Russian esports team Virtus.pro has been disqualified from the Rainbow Six Siege tournament. The reason is the “national origin of the players.” dev.ua writes about it.
Virtus.pro previously moved from Russia to Armenia. Today he was disqualified from the Malta CyberSeries tournament for Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. All team members are Russians.
“According to the information we received from the administration, the decision was made due to the national origin of the players,” Virtus.pro said in a statement.
The club says they have received an invitation from Ubisoft and have agreed to take part in the qualifying rounds of the Malta CyberSeries: VIl to “get more practice before the Six Invitational 2024”.
According to the liquipedia website, the entire active Virtus.pro team from Rainbow Six Siege is made up of Russians. Among them are Pavel “p4sh4” Kosenko, Dmitry Always Mitrakhovich, Danila dan Dontsov, Danil JoyStiCK Gabov, Arthur “ShepparD” Ipatov.
