Ukraine will play a significant role in Europe’s energy security as a result of the increase in the “green” generation, Timchenko is sure.

In the future, Ukraine will become an integral part of the energy security of the European Union, says Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK. He expressed his expectations in an interview with CNN.

“I sincerely believe that in the future Ukraine will play an important role in EU energy security and the European energy landscape,” he said.

Timchenko said that to increase the capacity of Ukraine’s “green” generation to 30 GW, approximately 40 billion dollars of investment is needed.

“Therefore, we are, in fact, building a business coalition of energy companies for such investments. We are looking for private capital, supported by state and political guarantees. This is what is needed now, and already has. huge interest from private enterprises to invest in the construction of a new Ukraine ” – said the CEO of DTEK.

It should be noted that at the moment the capacity of Ukrainian “green” energy is 9 GW. The company proposed to increase them to 30 GW by 2030. DTEK proposed a corresponding initiative at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
