The rate of price decline was affected by the sharp saturation of the market in imported resources against the backdrop of the seasonal decline in sales.
Prices for liquefied gas in the wholesale sector of the Ukrainian market for the week from December 4 to 11 decreased by UAH 9.8 thousand – to UAH 48.85 thousand per ton. Industry publication enkorr reported this with reference to market price tracking data. Consulting group A-95.
It was noted that at the auction on December 6, the average price of gas fell by 11.66 thousand UAH – to 47.95 thousand UAH per ton. According to bidders, there was almost no activity at the auction, with the result that only 24% of the 6,175 tons of gas offered was sold.
At the auction of Regal Petroleum on December 11, prices fluctuate in the range of 39.45–42.65 thousand UAH per ton.
Reportedly, the cost of autogas from domestic producers has dropped to the level of imported sources. The current situation promises major damage to wholesale companies that cleared gas through customs in December or are awaiting the arrival of new shipments contracted at November prices.
The cost of car shipments of imported resources to the western border averaged 41.7 thousand UAH per ton, and rail shipments – 42.33 thousand UAH. In the south, the average price is higher: gas supplied by a gas carrier costs an average of 43.45 thousand UAH per ton.
As stated in Consulting group A-95in the first week of December, about 21 thousand tons of liquefied gas were imported into Ukraine, the average customs cost was $872 per ton.
Experts noted that the rate of price decline was affected by the sharp saturation of the market with imported resources against the backdrop of a seasonal decline in sales. Imported gas supplies in November were constrained, in particular, by low cargo processing rates Ukrzaliznytsia, which increased significantly at the beginning of December. In addition, many sea shipments hit the market. At the same time, the increase in the price of autogas to 36 UAH/l, along with the cold weather, significantly reduced retail sales volumes.
According to traders, wholesale gas prices will further decrease in the near future.
Remind us that on average in Ukraine on December 6-7, the price of autogas dropped by 10 kopecks, to 35.87 hryvnia per liter.
At the beginning of December, some Ukrainian gas filling networks reduced prices for autogas. On average across the country, autogas dropped in price by 9 kopecks, to 36.65 UAH per liter.
