On the market front: Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill is one of the main players in the pulp and paper industry of Ukraine.
The value of the company lies not only in the number of sales, but also in its reputation as a trendsetter. Almost five years ago, KPKK was the first Ukrainians to get used to the European culture of mono-format paper towels of large size and now deprived of the undisputed leader in this segment – at the time of war, now This pressure and fierce competition.
First: how did the Kiev CPC create a “fashion” for paper towels in Ukraine?
Easy to use and practical: it is important to see the police with hygiene products in supermarkets without a wide range of hamed paper towels of large sizes – “jamboroles”, which cost a lot of money. But few people remember that the popular format of towels of Ukrainian production appeared in the country only five years ago.
The first “jamboroli” and smaller “monoroli” began to be produced by the Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill itself. Until then, only foreign analogues were sold in our country. The company, which is a warehouse affiliated with the Austrian holding Pulp Mill and is well aware of the current trends in European culture, has really become a “fashion trendsetter” and brought the trend for these products to Ukraine.
However, due to the high viscosity, habitable properties and low price for the moisture content of the paper base, the KKPK industry quickly began to remove imported paper towels from the national market. Based on data for the first 9 months of 2023, the total share of plant products (“Divo” and “Divo Premio” brands) in the paper towel segment decreased by more than 38%. In the past river, due to the war and difficult economic situation in Ukraine, the distribution of goods in this format has grown by 60%.
The company does not stop and promotes innovations for the HoReCa industry.
Kiev KPK has developed a line of separate towels for dispensers, which, according to representatives of the HoReCa sphere (enterprises and businesses of hotels and restaurants – ed.), do not compromise in any way for welfare of viruses days of light brands in the field of professional hygiene.
Another promising area is the production of towels in rolls for dispensers, which are widely used in areas of hospitality and public catering. HoReCa companies in the lower regions of Ukraine are testing new products from KKPK to replace more expensive imported products.
This morning, the market is under the threat of uncompetitive thinking, which led to the unimportant decisions of the Order.
Even in the first month of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, with forced measures and MDV, the position of imports was low, where the paper virus went, until our borders had an uncontrollable decrease in imports. of san Ethical and hygienic products from Europe became 20% cheaper in a minute.
It put the national business on the minds of many people. And although the status quo was renewed for a short time, in this short time the police of supermarkets in Ukraine (especially in the border regions) were literally filled with imported paper towels, with their domestic counterparts. And some European brands have managed to gain a foothold in our market.
In recent years, Vietnamese pharmaceutical producers have faced a new challenge – logistical problems of providing cheese by blocking the border crossings from Poland and Slovakia by carriers. І tse – the damned butt of the stagnation of non-competitive methods of fighting in the market. Also, while the country is bravely fighting against the Russian aggressor, the manufacturers of paper products are trying to maintain the government’s defense against unfair competition.

And for the sake of equal thinking, the choice of a cross-border buyer is clearly based on the botanical commodity.
It is worth noting that, despite the surviving authorities, Ukrainian paper towels do not sacrifice anything to their Asian counterparts, and they often surpass them with equal venom. Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill uses vikoryst for making a thicker base, lower outer molds (20 g/m2 compared to 17) – this is a unique feature, KKPK products are cheaper and absorbs more moisture. In addition, it has more tactile power and dot reception.
Unconcerned with war and hostile foreign minds, the Kiev CCP follows the “golden rule”: in every case, do not lose “gramage” (an indicator of the mass of a square meter of the paper base). This parameter will not change from the moment of launching a new product line in 2018, due to any economic disturbances.
And in the case of viruses from CCPC, there is a purely visual advantage, which can be marked by the unbroken eye.
Let’s talk about the aesthetic side – the beauty of the decoration, like a small embossed paper. Although it does not have the same function, the spring form also flows into the flexible paper jabs – it becomes more attractive and delicate at the same time.
With the introduction of a new product position in the segment of split towels, it was decided to develop a product that not only clearly indicates the main function, but will be “kind to the eye”. If you want to go to market, it is important to accept a simple, uniform design.
This efficiency is already appreciated by Ukrainian men, and competitors are trying to adapt the technology for themselves. And this, perhaps, is one of the main indicators of success – even copying the winners.
