In Ukraine, a record level of grain yield was recorded – 54.7 c/ha. The previous record was in 2021 – 53.6 c/ha. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has raised the production forecast for the current harvest of grains and oilseeds, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
The level of grain yield increased – up to 54.7 c/ha. This is a record figure for Ukraine; before that, the highest level of grain yield was in 2021, it was 53.6 c/ha. In fact, it made it possible to revise this year’s crop production volume and, in particular, increase corn production from 28.5 million tons to more than 30 million tons. Maize harvesting has been done in 87% of the areas. Last year, on the same date, 66% of this crop area was harvested. If weather conditions are favorable, corn harvesting will continue, although part of the crop will remain in the fields until spring, the statement said.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy raised the forecast for the production of grain and oilseeds to 81.3 million tons: the forecast for the total production of grain crops increased to 59.7 million tons, and the amount of harvested oilseeds was remains unchanged and reaches 21.6 million tons.
According to preliminary estimates, in 2023, farmers will harvest grain in the following volumes: wheat – 22.2 million tons, barley – 5.8 million tons and corn – 30.1 million tons. As for oilseeds, the harvest of sunflower remained at 13 million tons, soybeans – 4.6 million tons. Rapeseed harvesting has been completed – more than 4 million tons, the ministry reported.
We remind you that the Ukrainian Grain Association predicts that in 2023, 81.6 million tons of grain and oilseed will be harvested in Ukraine.
