Compared to November last year, demand for imported used cars increased by 46%.
In November 2023, 21.7 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad received Ukrainian license plates, which is a record figure for almost a year and a half. The Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Ukraine reported this on December 8.
“In November, the Ukrainian car fleet was filled with more than 21.7 thousand used cars imported from abroad. Last month’s replenishment of the country’s fleet with used cars was the largest in the last 16 months,” the report said.
According to the association, compared to October of this year, registrations of such vehicles increased by 3%, and compared to November last year, demand for imported used vehicles increased by 46%.
In recent months, the top five in the segment has remained unchanged. So, in November, Volkswagen Golf was registered – 1511 units, Renault Megane – 1261 units, Škoda Octavia – 894 units, Volkswagen Passat – 728 units, Nissan Leaf – 525 units.
The largest share of used second-hand goods consists of gasoline-powered vehicles – 44%. It is followed by diesel cars – 31%, electric cars – 16%, cars with LPG – 6%, hybrids – 3%.
In total, since the beginning of the year, 191 thousand used cars imported from abroad underwent their first registration in Ukraine, which is 3.5 times more than sales of new cars in the same period. The average age of used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates in November was nine years.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of the year, the demand for new cars in Ukraine has increased by 60%, and for used cars – by 40%.
