The state can help Ukrenergo in restructuring loans and postpone payments in the period after the end of the war, according to Ukrmetallurgprom.
An increase in Ukrenergo tariffs will lead to a decrease in the competitiveness of domestic enterprises, as the cost of production will increase. The president of the association of businesses Ukrmetallurgprom, Alexander Kalenkov, said this in a comment on the Minprom website.
“Today, it is important that the logistics work properly, so that we can export more products. And the cost does not increase within the country. In this aspect, everything that can be done in enterprises has been done, all internal resources has already been used to the end. Therefore, now it is important that the state pursues a normal policy and controls the costs of its monopolies, such as Ukrenergo and Ukrzaliznytsia, and gives businesses the opportunity to operate not raising tariffs, “said Kalenkov.
He emphasized that now private business cannot raise funds in Ukraine or abroad because of military risks. But the state will help Ukrenergo restructure its debts to borrowers, as well as postpone payments in the period after the end of the war. It will allow businesses to live up to success, pay taxes, salaries to employees and continue to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Kalenkov is convinced that such an initiative on the part of the Ukrainian authorities will receive understanding from Western partners.
“They are now covering holes in the budget. If the tariffs increase, there will be more holes in the budget, because businesses will close. Therefore, if our partners meet halfway and help Ukrenergo to maintain tariffs, it will save a large part of the Ukrainian economy, and in the end our partners can also spend less in the future, “he believes.
We would like to remind you that on November 16, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NEURC) approved an increase in Ukrenergo’s tariff for the transmission and transmission of electricity for business.
Also last month, NEURC established new maximum prices in the electricity market, which came into effect on November 30.
