Boryspil International Airport has opened dozens of vacancies. There are many advertisements on job search sites for specialists in the aviation industry.
Resumption of flights from Boryspil airport is a desirable, but for now unattainable goal. The adviser to the head of the Office of the President, Mikhail Podolyak, said this on the air of the Argument program.
According to him, most significant positive changes are true only in a scenario where Russia begins to suffer a strategic defeat on the front line. The resumption of flights to Boryspil is complicated by several challenges that Ukraine has to face.
“It can be discussed, preparations can take place. And they are taking place, including in Boryspil. However, security issues must be more widely and significantly resolved,” said Podolyak.
First, he said, it is necessary for the intensity of Russian air terror to be reduced. “And you and I fully understand that the intensity is not decreasing, despite the fact, as the president said, that a new phase of the war has begun,” said the adviser to the head of the OP.
Therefore, until Ukraine solves the security issue, it is difficult to talk about opening a new hub for air transport.
“If the security issue is resolved, it will be possible to discuss this or that logistics, including air transport logistics,” said Podolyak.
According to him, agreements with partners are necessary to increase the supply of air defense systems that Ukraine needs. “I think there will be many different decisions here. And now these decisions have been completed somewhere. It is understood that the deliveries are already underway,” Podolyak added.
Second, according to Podolyak, it is necessary to study how Russia will use its forces for air attacks this winter: aviation, drones, and others.
Let us remind you that vacancies in the field of aviation have appeared on job search sites, despite the fact that all airports in Ukraine have not been operating since the beginning of the war. Earlier, information appeared on the network that the Boryspil airport could start operating.
A few weeks ago, the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak did not exclude that one of the airports in Ukraine will be opened for civilian flights even before the end of the war.
As you know, on the day of Russia’s full invasion, February 24, 2022, Ukraine completely closed its airspace to civil aircraft.
