Ukrzaliznytsia called the process of raising ticket prices “reduction of discounts” and “price consolidation.”
Ukrzaliznytsia announced an increase in ticket prices for some international flights. The cost of tickets for the popular Kyiv – Warsaw flight will increase by a record 72%, the company’s press service reported on Tuesday, December 5.

Ukrzaliznytsia called this process “reduction of discounts” and “price reconciliation.” This should allow us to continue updating the vehicle fleet and reduce overall damage from passenger transportation.
“In recent years, in order to attract passenger traffic, Ukrzaliznytsia applied discounts on almost all international passenger flights. But now the company is reviewing this decision, because the annual damage from passenger traffic will amount to more than UAH 12 billion,” the statement said.
The company assured that the change in tariffs will maintain the cost of tickets for domestic travel at the current level, as well as continue to modernize the rolling stock.
Thus, according to a common decision among railways of neighboring countries, the cost of tickets for the Kyiv-Warsaw-Kyiv train will increase by 72%, the demand for which remains in a hurry, Ukrzaliznytsia explained.
“But at the same time, cheaper alternative options are available on this route. Depending on the seat class, the cost of traveling to Chelm and back, from where you can conveniently transfer to Warsaw, will increase as follows: for trains from the Dnieper – within 4-11% , from Kharkov – 17-48%, from Kiev – 15-47%. Also, the cost of traveling on night trains in Vienna and Przemysl is will increase minimally, within 3%. For travel on Intercity+ Kiev – Przemysl – Kiev the price will increase by 26 %, and on the night train Odessa – Przemysl – Odessa – in the range of 37-49%,” the company said .
At the same time, the cost of train tickets to Chisinau and Budapest will remain unchanged.
The new tariffs will come into effect with the introduction of a new passenger train schedule from December 10, 2023. Until the specified date, when buying a ticket for any day, passengers will pay the old price.
Let’s recall that in November Ukrzaliznytsia warned about a possible “indexation” of the cost of cargo transportation. At the same time, the company assured that we are not talking about increasing tariffs.
