Ami Paris opens a free ice rink in the heart of the Palais Royal

The 22-meter-long skating rink will welcome young and old during the last two weeks of December. Friend Paris

The brand is setting up shop in the main courtyard and celebrating the end of the year holidays with an ice rink and pop-up store opening from December 16 to 31.

What could be more typical of the end of the year celebrations than a cold one warmed by a hot drink? It’s Ami Paris-led ready-to-wear brand by Alexandre Mattiusi with the heart logo that took on the fascinating challenge of opening an ice rink in the heart of Paris’ Palais Royal.

Under the light wreaths overlooking the space, young and old will move at their own pace. The bravest will fly across the ice on skates, while the more cautious will watch them teeter on the chrome railings, enjoying their precarious balance. The 22-meter-long ice rink will also be accompanied by the first Café Ami in Paris, located under a small chalet, as well as a Christmas tree. In the center of the skate, a little stylish touch, because you always need one: the black Ami de Coeur logo. A stone’s throw from the glacier, huh? pop up shop which will feature an exclusive year-end collection of unisex products such as accessories and leather goods.

Don’t worry about the weather

Cafe, skating rink and boutique. Christmas according to Ami. Friend Paris

If the holiday season is synonymous with negative temperatures, snow is becoming an increasingly rare guest. So, to avoid depending on the uncertain weather conditions, Ami opted for synthetic cleats similar to Canadian indoor hockey cleats. No need for water or special cold, they are self-lubricating and mimic the natural properties of ice. Whether it’s rain, snow or wind, the Ami Glacier will be a welcome sight.

Barely announced and already a victim of its success. Reservations on the Ami Paris website are sold out.
