According to the results of the month, the largest volume was supplied to Slovakia – 43% of the total volume (17.6 thousand MWh). Another 21% (8.7 thousand MWh) came to Moldova.
For the first time in more than a year, exports took place in Romania, amounting to 14.7 thousand MWh, or 36% of total electricity exports. Prior to this, the last export to the country was carried out in October 2022. Continuation of supplies to/from Romania was made possible due to Ukraine’s compliance with EU requirements for holding joint auctions for access to interstate crossings.
Electricity imports of Ukraine in November reached 60.7 thousand MWh, namely:
• 46% (27.7 thousand MWh) came from Slovakia;
• 35% (21.1 thousand MWh) – from Romania (for the first time since November 2022);
• 12% (7.7 thousand MWh) – from Poland;
• 7% (4.2 thousand MWh) – from Moldova.
Compared to last month, imports increased 3.5 times. Compared to November 2022, when there was almost no delivery, imports increased 470 times. Thus, electricity imports in November exceeded exports by a third.
We remind you that last week there was a deficit in the Ukrainian energy system for two consecutive days. We had to attract emergency aid from EU countries.
On November 22, a deficit appeared in the Ukrainian energy system for the first time in the current autumn-winter season. Ukrainians were urged to consume electricity sparingly throughout the day.
