Due to a long boycott, the social network X could go bankrupt, an American businessman admitted.
The American billionaire, owner of the social network X Elon Musk spoke rudely about the companies that refused to advertise on this platform after the anti-Semitic scandal in which he was involved. The New York Times reported it.
At the DealBook Summit in New York on Wednesday, November 29, Musk apologized for his post in which he endorsed an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, but said advertisers were trying to “blackmail” him. His message to these brands is simple: “Don’t advertise” and he has used profanity towards advertisers on several occasions.
Musk admitted that due to a long boycott, the social network X could go bankrupt, but suggested that the public should blame the brands for the collapse, not him.
The billionaire added that, in retrospect, he shouldn’t have responded to that particular message and “should have written in more detail about what I meant.”
“I allowed my haters, as well as those committed to anti-Semitism, to pull the trigger. I deeply regret that I did that,” Musk added.
Let’s remember that several large American companies, particularly Apple and Disney, announced that they would stop their advertising on Platform X after Musk supported an anti-Semitic message on the social network.
Following accusations of anti-Semitism, Musk traveled to Israel, where he met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
