Bloomberg said the Greek tankers will carry only 15 cargoes of Russia’s Urals oil flagship.
Greek oil tanker owners have decided to reduce the amount of Russian crude they carry. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency.
According to the agency, this month the number of Greek oil tankers heading to the Russian Federation will decrease by a quarter compared to last month, and by 60% compared to June.
The media said Russia still relies on the help of foreign ship operators to transport its oil to the global market.
The news agency believes that Greek tankers will carry only 15 cargoes of Russia’s Urals oil flagship, which were loaded from Baltic and Black Sea ports in November. While in October there were 20 of them.
The media recalled that the US Treasury Department previously sent letters to tanker owners asking them to explain what they did to comply with the price ceiling for Russian oil. Representatives of the two Athens-based companies said they were “proceeding cautiously while assessing the situation.”
As already written, the US Treasury sent letters warning of imprisonment in case of violation of the price ceiling for Russian oil to 30 companies that control up to hundreds of oil tankers.
