The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a mechanism that allows ARMA to sell the seized Medvedchuk yacht worth 200 million euros.
The Government of Ukraine improved the procedure for the sale of seized property, and the possibility of selling them abroad was also introduced. Corresponding changes were made in resolutions No. 719 and No. 558, reported the press service of the Asset Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA).
The department emphasized that it was making it possible to sell a 92-meter yacht confiscated from former MP Viktor Medvedchuk, who was accused of high treason.
According to the new rules, all sales of seized property are carried out exclusively on the Prozorro electronic platform and in accordance with European legislation.
These changes will help restore confidence in competitions for the sale of confiscated property and, therefore, accelerate the speed of filling the state budget in war conditions, noted the head of ARMA Elena Duma
In addition, the changes introduced for the first time in the history of Ukraine will normalize the sale of seized property abroad. This makes it possible to start the procedures for the sale of the 92-meter yacht Royal Romance, owned by Viktor Medvedchuk’s family and located in Croatia.
ARMA emphasized that this is especially important, because such a mechanism will make it possible to get funds from the sale of expensive confiscated property without transferring it to Ukraine, which is impossible during the war.
Before the war, Medvedchuk’s fortune was estimated at $620 million. A third of this amount, $190 million, is his personal transportation, including the 92-meter yacht Royal Romance.
We would like to remind you that on March 16, 2022, the Lvov court arrested Medvedchuk’s yacht, and on April 11, it was handed over to ARMA.
In October 2023, it became known that Medvedchuk in Russia became the owner of a new yacht worth 9 million 627 thousand dollars.
