Auto sales in China rose 13.8% year-on-year in October to a record 2.853 million, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said.
In the ten months of 2023, 23.97 million vehicles were sold in the country, which is 9.1% more than a year ago. In total, 2.891 million cars were produced in the country in October (an increase of 11.2%), since the beginning of the year – 24.02 million cars (an increase of 8%).
New energy vehicle (NEV) sales in October rose 34% to 956,000, also a monthly record. NEV sales since the beginning of the year increased by 37.8% and reached 7.28 million.
China exported 488 thousand vehicles of various types last month, which is 44.2% higher than in October 2022. Exports of cars in ten months increased by 59.7% – in 3.922 million units. Including foreign NEV deliveries doubled and reached 995 thousand.
It was previously reported that in Ukraine the demand for electric cars has almost tripled. Since the beginning of 2023, almost 28.7 thousand electric vehicles have undergone their first registration in Ukraine, which is 2.7 times more than in the same period last year. In addition, the share of new cars in BEV registrations has increased – from 16 to 20%.
