Within 10 months of 2023, DTEK Energy has commissioned 21 new longwall faces to maintain sufficient coal production volumes. This was reported by the DTEK press service on Monday, November 6.
“For the reliable and improved operation of Ukrainian thermal power plants during the heating season, in the first ten months of this year, DTEK Energy commissioned 21 new coal faces. In November-December, the plans company miner to commission another 5 faces,” the statement said.
The company noted that by 2023, investments in Ukrainian coal production will reach UAH 7.4 billion.
In addition to its own production, the company imports fuel from abroad: currently 62 thousand tons of thermal coal are delivered from Poland. In total, DTEK plans to import 210 thousand tons of fuel during the heating season.
“We do everything to ensure that our thermal power plants are ready to operate at maximum capacity at any time. To do this, we provide thermal generation with a sufficient volume of fuel for intensive operation. First of all, from in our own production, but we also find an opportunity to insure the energy system with additional imported quantities. We remind you that it was previously reported that DTEK spent a record 20 billion UAH during the preparation for the heating season.
