Sowing of winter grain crops is underway in Ukraine; five regions have already completed autumn sowing. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
By the end of October, 4 million 211 thousand hectares have been sown, namely: wheat – 3,733 thousand hectares, barley – 403 thousand hectares, rye -76 thousand hectares. Agricultural producers in the Dnepropetrovsk region sowed more winter grains – 460.5 thousand hectares.
This week, farmers in the Ivano-Frankivsk region completed the sowing of winter crops. This is the fifth region where the autumn sowing campaign has ended. At this time, the sowing of winter crops was completed in the region of Volyn, Transcarpathia, Zaporozhye and Poltava.
It was previously reported that by the end of October, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 63.2 million tons of new crops, of which 43.4 million tons were grain crops and 19.6 million tons were oilseeds.
This year in Ukraine the harvest forecast has been improved several times. At the end of September, it was estimated at 79 million tons, which is +10% compared to last year’s result.
