If previously Polish carriers were limited to one checkpoint, now they plan to block all existing entries from Ukraine.
Polish carriers are threatening to close all checkpoints on the Ukrainian side from November due to excessive competition after the liberalization of international transport between Ukraine and the European Union. This was reported by the Ukravtoprom Association in connection with the International Transport Association of Ukraine.
It was noted that on November 3, the first action with the participation of Polish carriers should take place near the Korchova checkpoint. The promotion is planned for a period of two months, that is, until the end of 2023.
“The reason for the strikes is excessive competition after the liberalization of international transport between Ukraine and EU countries,” the statement said.
Polish carriers require:
-
restore permits to Ukrainian carriers;
-
strengthen ECMT transport rules for foreign carriers;
-
inability to register companies in Poland if the company’s finances are not located in the EU;
-
a separate queue in єCherzi for vehicles with EU number plates;
-
a separate queue at all borders for empty trucks;
-
gain access to the Shlyakh system.
If previously Polish carriers were limited to one checkpoint, now they plan to block all existing entries from Ukraine.
Auto24 writes that in addition to strikes at the borders of Ukraine, strikes are planned from November 9 by employees of the Polish ports of Gdynia and Gdansk, which account for the lion’s share of cargo from Ukraine. After the closure of Ukrainian ports, these ports received an increase in loading from Ukrainian imports and exports. At the same time, local workers did not receive additional wages.
Let’s recall that in June, Polish farmers blocked the movement of trucks from Ukraine through the Shegini checkpoint. The reason for the protest is the continuation of trade liberalization in Ukraine. Traffic was also blocked at the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint.
Auto-fixation cameras have begun to be tested at the Polish border
