The average cash dollar exchange rate on sale decreased to UAH 37.99, and the euro exchange rate fell to UAH 40.41.
The exchange rate of the hryvnia against the dollar and euro cash market strengthened on the last working day of the week. RBC-Ukraine reported this on Friday, October 27.
Today, the average dollar exchange rate in banks decreased by 5 kopecks on sale and 38.02 Hryvnia. During the purchase, the dollar fell by 7 kopecks to UAH 37.38. The average euro exchange rate fell to 40.45 and 39.63 hryvnia, respectively.
In turn, exchange offices set the following rates for cash currency:
-
dollar – 37.99 hryvnia (selling) and 37.63 hryvnia (buying)
-
euro – 40.41 hryvnia (selling) and 40.03 hryvnia (buying)
In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rate is at the level of 36.47-36.49 (buying and selling).
We remind you that the official dollar exchange rate is falling for the second day in a row and is now at 36.5082 hryvnia per 1 dollar, which is two kopecks less than the day before. The euro fell another 15 kopecks to UAH 38.4687. for 1 euro.
As you know, on October 3, the National Bank introduced a regime of managed exchange rate flexibility. Before this, since the beginning of the war, the regulator maintained a fixed exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar – first 29.25 UAH/dollar, and from July 21, 2022 – 36.57 UAH/dollar.
Now the banks sell and buy money at a free rate with no limit of 1% of the official rate in force since the beginning of the war. Taking into account the exchange rate in the interbank market, the NBU sets the official rate. However, the regulator promised to significantly limit changes in the exchange rate, preventing both a significant weakening of the Hryvnia and a significant strengthening.
