Gazprom is trying to compensate for the loss of European markets after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian concern Gazprom will provide additional gas volumes to Hungary and China in the winter to compensate for the loss of European sales markets after the decline of Russian gas due to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. This was announced on Sunday, October 22, by the general director of the Russian gas monopolist, Alexey Miller, Reuters reports.
The announcement comes after Miller accompanied Russian President Vladimir Putin on his visit to China last week.
In a television interview, Miller said that Gazprom’s additional supplies to Hungary will reach 1.3 billion cubic meters of gas. China will receive 600 million cubic meters above contractual obligations.
Earlier, Moldova announced that it would no longer buy gas from Russia. Moldova obtains gas from alternative sources by purchasing it on the European market.
