Since the beginning of the year, the State Financial Monitoring Service has sent 870 materials related to money laundering and terrorist financing to law enforcement agencies.
The State Financial Monitoring Service, as a unit of financial intelligence of Ukraine, during nine months of 2023 sent 870 materials on laundering proceeds from crime worth 85.3 billion hryvnias to law enforcement agencies. The press service of the department reported this on October 19.
It is noted that the State Financial Monitoring Service has taken enhanced measures to combat money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. First of all, with the aim of effective sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation.
“As part of operational activities for the nine months of 2023, the State Financial Monitoring Service sent 870 materials to law enforcement agencies (477 general materials and 393 additional general materials). Among the materials this, the amount of financial transactions that may be related to the laundering of funds and the commission of a criminal offense is 85 .3 billion hryvnias,” said the press release.
The amount of stopped financial transactions and blocked funds equals 3.6 billion hryvnias.
“Currently, the main activity of the State Financial Monitoring Service is the identification of financial transactions and persons associated with the financing of terrorism/separatism and military aggression on the part of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus against Ukraine. .. 207 such materials are sent to law enforcement agencies,” the service emphasized.
