In the cash market, the exchange rate of the American currency is already below its level before the NBU’s decision to switch to a flexible exchange rate.
The National Bank continues to reduce the official dollar exchange rate. On Tuesday, the American currency fell another 4 kopecks, according to data on the regulator’s website on Monday, October 16.
Thus, the official exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar on October 17 was set at 36.3297 UAH/1 dollar. (-0.0391 UAH). The euro exchange rate tomorrow will be 38.2806 UAH per 1 euro (+0.0024 UAH).
The dollar exchange rate on the interbank market today initially decreased, but in the afternoon it increased by 4 kopecks – to 36.39-36.41 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
In the cash market, the exchange rate of the American currency decreased by 5 kopecks – to 38.10 Hryvnia per dollar. This is below the level before the NBU’s decision to switch to a flexible exchange rate.
We remind you that last week the NBU sold $575 million in the interbank market. This is half as much as in the first week after the exchange rate policy change, indicating the stabilization of the general market situation.
