Among the significant changes that the government recommends to consider when preparing for the second reading is an additional 10 billion hryvnia tax on banks.
The Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada recommended the draft state budget of Ukraine for 2024 before the first reading. The head of the committee, Roksolana Pidlasa, announced this on Facebook the other day.
According to him, among the significant changes that the government recommends to consider when preparing for the second reading:

if the bill on taxation of banks (No. 9656-d) is adopted, increase the planned state budget revenues by 9.9 billion hryvnias.

reduce costs for construction, repair and purchase of property in various government bodies by 1.3 billion hryvnias;

reduce costs for the Bureau of Economic Security by 409 million hryvnias and use these funds to purchase scanners for customs at railway checkpoints;
-
allocate an additional 574 million hryvnias for prosthetics for the military;
-
increase spending on education subsidies by UAH 384 million.
According to people’s representative Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the vote for the first reading of the budget in the hall, according to the regulations, must take place before October 20.
“And it will happen next week. Also, probably, with correction and consideration matches in a few days,” he said.
We remind you that on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for 2024 and submitted it to the Rada. It provides revenues to the general fund of 1 trillion 560 billion Hryvnia and expenses of 3 trillion 108 billion Hryvnia.
The main emphasis of the state budget is defense and security, where more than half of all budget resources will be allocated – 1 trillion 685 billion hryvnias, which is 113 billion hryvnias more than in 2023.
