Winter grain sowing was carried out on an area of 2,583 thousand hectares, of which 2,352 thousand hectares were sown with wheat, 171 thousand hectares with barley, and 60 thousand hectares with rye.
As of October 10, about 3.7 million hectares of winter crops were sown in all regions of Ukraine. In the past week, 680 thousand hectares of winter grains were sown.
“Agrarians of the Sumy region sowed the most winter grains – 97% of the forecast. The leader in sowing wheat is Dnipropetrovsk region (271.3 thousand hectares), barley – Nikolaev region (25 thousand hectares), rye – Volyn (13 thousand hectares) ,” – said the message.
Currently, farmers from all regions of Ukraine are completing the sowing of winter rapeseed; 1,111 thousand hectares were sown. Most of all – in the Dnepropetrovsk region (117.3 thousand hectares) and in the Odessa region (103.6 thousand hectares). In the past week, 24 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed were sown.
Let us remind you that earlier the Ministry of Agrarian Policy raised the forecast for the harvest of grains and oilseeds this year, taking into account the better yield of the main crops.
In the 2023/2024 marketing year, which began on July 1, Ukraine exported 6.038 million tons of grain and legumes.
