The authorities have begun to prepare the foundation for the restoration of the reservoir and hydroelectric power station, explained Denis Shmyhal.
The Cabinet of Ministers introduced a ban on the transfer of ownership, use or change in the intended purpose of the lands of the Kakhovka Reservoir. The restrictions will remain in effect for 15 years. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal wrote this on Telegram on Friday, October 6.
“The only exceptions allowed are changes to restore the reservoir and implement soil conservation measures,” he said.
Shmygal noted the importance that during this period the lands under the Kakhovka reservoir did not change their intended purpose.
“Therefore, we are establishing such prohibitions and thus preparing the foundation for the restoration of the reservoir and hydroelectric power station,” explained the head of government.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional 335 million hryvnias for the Kherson region to implement a program to overcome the consequences of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric station.
“We are sending UAH 187 million to the Kherson region for the priority restoration of water and heat supply facilities. UAH 148 million is for other works, in particular, the repair of roads in Kherson , which is necessary for the normal functioning of the city ,” said Shmyhal.
In total, the government allocated UAH 11.9 billion to eliminate the consequences of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric station.
Let’s recall that on the night of June 6, Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which caused widespread flooding in the territories of the Kherson region and caused great environmental, economic and humanitarian damage to Ukraine.
