There will be a lot of news about how the licensing regime is changing, etc. It will be very active work. Therefore, at the moment we are looking for a practical solution, our disputes with the WTO are now paused,” the Ukrainian trade representative explained to reporters on Thursday in Brussels.
Kachka says that Ukraine is currently conducting consultations, but this is not a dispute.
“We are not in a dispute – we have not formalized a working body to conduct a dispute, we are in the consultation phase. We sent this case (to the WTO), and there are 60 days for consultations ,” the deputy minister. clarified, emphasizing that it is important for the Ukrainian side to find ” a constructive solution within the entire EU.”
According to him, Kyiv already controls the customs clearance of goods passing through five neighboring countries.
“We see that no country bans this transit. This is a great joint success. The only sensitive point we have left is the question of when the markets of neighboring countries will be opened for Ukrainian goods. This is a minimal problem, because we are not there We sell a lot of grain products. But this is basically a question of the functioning of trade between Ukraine and the EU,” added the representative.
We remind you that four EU countries have asked Ukraine to withdraw its WTO complaint.
