The result of successful negotiations with the IMF is that Ukraine will receive a third loan tranche in the amount of about $900 million by the end of the year.

The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday, October 3, opened a permanent mission in Kyiv, which has been closed since the start of a full-scale war in 2022. About that reported IMF head Kristalina Georgieva on X (Twitter).

“I am pleased to announce the opening of a permanent IMF office in Kyiv as we deepen our engagement with Ukraine,” he wrote and posted a photo with representatives of the IMF, the National Bank of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance .

Let’s recall that on October 1, the IMF mission began meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, as well as with other key partners.

As you know, in March the IMF approved a four-year financing package for Ukraine worth $15.6 billion. In total, this year Ukraine has the opportunity to receive three tranches from the fund totaling $4.5 billion. On July 3, it became known that Ukraine received $890 million from the IMF. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities must implement a number of structural beacons to continue funding.

The IMF mission is working in Ukraine for the first time in three years
