The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Nikolai Solsky held an online meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria Kirill Vatev. During the negotiations, the ministers discussed the technical issues of exporting Ukrainian agricultural products to Bulgaria, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reports.
Kirill Vatev reported that the Bulgarian government considers the Ukrainian action plan submitted to the European Commission for the supply of agricultural products acceptable. According to him, Bulgaria has its own proposals for the licensing mechanism for certain types of agricultural products proposed by Ukraine. In particular, it concerns the sunflower; Bulgaria has no objection to the export of the other three crops.
The ministers agreed on the technical details of the procedure for the export of agricultural products to Bulgaria and will discuss their results at the next meeting in the first half of October.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Farming reported that Vatev was familiar with Solsky on the memorandum signed between the Bulgarian government and the farmers’ initiative committee, which provides for a ban on the import of sunflowers from Ukraine until the end of November.
