Financial, fiscal and structural measures will be discussed, the fund said.
The mission of the International Monetary Fund began technical discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. Preparations are underway for the second review of the Expanded Funding Program. Ukrinform reported this on Monday, September 25, with reference to the IMF.
“The IMF mission, led by Gavin Gray, today begins technical discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities about recent economic developments and to discuss financial, fiscal and structural measures in context of preparations for the 2023 consultation on Article IV of the IMF Agreements and the second review of the Extended financing (EFF),” said the permanent representative of the fund in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan.
Let’s recall that in March the IMF approved a four-year financing package for Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion to help the country meet its urgent financial needs in the midst of the war. In general, this year Ukraine has the opportunity to receive three tranches from the IMF with a total of $4.5 billion. On July 3, it became known that Ukraine received $890 million from the IMF.
