Unblocking the Black Sea ports will be of great importance for the Ukrainian economy. This was announced yesterday by the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FRU), which updated its previous calculations.
The organization calculates that the complete unblocking of Black Sea ports for all types of cargo (including the resumption of grain exports, whose shipment from the ports stopped on July 17) will lead to to:

increase of Ukraine’s GDP by 15%;

200 billion Hryvnias of additional tax revenue per year;

additional foreign exchange earnings per year in excess of $25 billion.
It is indicated that the FRU has recently sent letters of appeal to the UN Secretary General, the President of the European Commission, the US Secretary of State, the Ministers of Commerce and Defense of the USA, Great Britain, Turkey, as well as the plenipotentiary. ambassadors of the relevant countries and of the European Union.
“The complete unblocking of ports and the restoration of free navigation in the Black Sea is of vital importance for Ukraine, its economic growth and will help strengthen security in the region,” the FRU said.
In the past, Ukrainian export losses were attributed to Russian attacks on ports. It is also known that since July 18, 105 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged and partially destroyed.
