14.4 billion cubic meters of gas were accumulated. This was last year’s entry level during the heating season.
For the heating season, 14.4 billion cubic meters of gas were accumulated in underground gas storage facilities. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this in a press conference on Friday, September 15.
“So far, 14.4 billion cubic meters of gas have been accumulated. This is the level of last year’s entry during the heating season,” said the head of government.
Shmygal said that seven units of nuclear power plants are already operating in the energy system, and two more units are undergoing repairs. This will allow coal to be stored for thermal generation.
“In total, the preparedness for winter is almost 80% now,” said the Prime Minister.
According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, over the year, Ukraine is developing ways to protect critical infrastructure from Russian attacks, which will allow it to confidently navigate the upcoming that fall-winter season. In addition, the possibility of importing electricity from Europe is a reserve.
“Today our physical capacity to import is 1.2 GW. It can physically increase to 2 GW,” said the head of government.
It was previously reported that preparations for the autumn-winter heating season in Ukraine are entering the final stage.
