Ukraine is changing naval history, Ukrainian ports can be opened, believes a Turkish analyst.
After the successful military operations, the balance of power between Russia and Ukraine has changed so much that Kyiv no longer benefits from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. This opinion was expressed to TVP World by Turkish geopolitical analyst Yoruk Isik.
According to the expert, the very fact of the grain deal confirms and acknowledges the fact that Russia is blocking Ukrainian ports. But the successful transfer of weapons and their use by Ukraine changed the situation.
Ishik recalled that four ships had already left Ukrainian ports without any agreement with the Russian Federation and successfully reached the Bosphorus.
“The balance has been completely changed. Ukraine is changing the history of the navy. The ports of Ukraine can be opened, and Ukraine will start trading with the world,” said the Turkish analyst.
Ishik also noted that all four ships that left Ukrainian ports belong to international banks and big countries, so Russia would never dare to attack them. The lone ship attacked by the Russians was flying the Palau flag.
“Therefore, in the current situation, Ukraine should choose ships of large companies to enter its ports, and this will allow free shipping to return,” the expert emphasized.
Let’s recall that in July the Russian Federation announced its withdrawal from the grain deal, which was valid for one year and allowed the export of Ukrainian food from Black Sea ports. Russian troops began shelling Ukrainian ports and grain infrastructure in southern Ukraine.
In August, Ukraine announced the opening of temporary corridors for merchant ships in the Black Sea. The routes are mainly intended for the discharge of civilian ships that have been in Ukrainian ports since the beginning of the full invasion of the Russian Federation. So far, four vessels have passed through the temporary corridor.
The other day, the media reported the secret correspondence between the UN and Russia on the renewal of the grain agreement. The UN proposal consists of four points that significantly weaken sanctions against Moscow.
In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that easing sanctions against Russia in exchange for a grain deal would be a victory for the aggressor country.
