The growth of agricultural exports in August is an incredible result, experts say.
In August, Ukraine exported 4.3 million tons of agro-industrial products, which is 16% more than in July of this year. This was announced by the Ukrainian club of agrarian business on Tuesday, September 5.

It is indicated that not all products managed to physically cross the border, because a significant number of vehicles are still waiting in lines to leave, and in August this trend became more noticeable.
The association emphasized that the growth of exports in August was an incredible result. Agricultural exports grew despite all the obstacles (Russia’s shelling of the infrastructure of the Danube river, lowering of the water level in this river, a ban on the export of a number of major Ukrainian exports to neighboring countries, etc.), as well as the lack of maritime exports.
The Danube river ports remain the most productive channel, with 64% of all volumes exported.
According to UCAB, last month Ukraine exported 2.3 million tons of grain crops, which is 2% more than in July this year. The share of wheat in the grain export structure is 52%, corn – 39%, and barley – 9%.
The export of oilseeds from Ukraine in August increased 2.3 times compared to July – up to 548.9 thousand tons (the share of rapeseed in the export structure is 94%, soybeans – 4% and sunflower seeds – 1 %). In August, Ukraine exported 548.9 thousand tons of vegetable oils (in July – 549.4 thousand tons). The share of sunflower oil in the oil export structure is 81%, rapeseed oil – 17% and soybean oil – 2%.
It was noted that in August Ukraine increased the export of cake after pressing vegetable oils by 15% – up to 367.3 thousand tons (the share of sunflower cake – 98% and soybean cake – 2%).
Analysts note that September is important for determining further trends in Ukrainian exports, because on September 15, the ban on exports to neighboring countries of four key positions should end. The removal of this restriction will significantly improve the situation with Ukrainian exports, which is what the domestic agricultural sector expects.
Recall that in the 2022/2023 marketing year (from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023), Ukraine exported almost 49 million tons of grain and legumes. Our country has earned more than 20 billion dollars.
