If necessary, the company is ready to help state-owned enterprises with coal, said Dmitry Sakharuk.
Energy companies, the Ministry of Energy and system operator Ukrenergo have combined their efforts to jointly prepare Ukraine’s energy system for the next heating season. Dmitry Sakharuk, Executive Director of DTEK, said this on the air of the telethon on Wednesday, August 30.
“Now all energy companies in Ukraine, including Ukrenergo, the Ministry of Energy, the Regulator, are preparing for the winter as a united front. They are all working together in a coordinated way for the result. It is important, because thanks to joint efforts it is possible to ensure maximum preparedness for a very difficult winter, “he said.
According to Sakharuk, as part of this integrated work, DTEK is carrying out the current repair of the power units of its TPPs. Nine repairs have been done, seven are in process, and by the end of the year a total of 27 power units will be repaired.
DTEK also works in coal mining to supply thermal power plants. This year, 15 new coal ranges have been constructed. Sakharuk assured that, if necessary, the company is ready to help the state generation with coal.
“The work is complex, systematic, and I hope that in the winter we will be as prepared as possible, despite the fact that it will be very difficult,” he concluded.
Earlier, DTEK announced the amount of costs for preparing thermal power plants and mines for the upcoming winter. We are talking about billions of hryvnias.
DTEK also talked about equipping the mines before winter. Machine builders produced 10 new combines and hundreds of thousands of spare parts and components.
