The Government of Ukraine forbids to change the heat tariffs for the population in the new heating season.
The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to ensure the differentiation of heat tariffs for the population in the new heating season. This is what Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday, August 22.
“Today, the government continues the PSO in the natural gas market until mid-April 2024. Naftogaz will continue to sell gas for heat suppliers for the population at a fixed price of UAH 7,400 per thousand cubic meters,” the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
According to him, this decision is part of comprehensive measures to prepare for winter.
“We are working to ensure that the homes of every Ukrainian are light and warm, and that our critical infrastructure receives reliable protection from Russian missiles and drones,” the prime minister insisted.
Remember that in Ukraine there is a moratorium on increasing tariffs for gas, hot water and heating, at the same time, it does not apply to electricity and cold water. The Cabinet of Ministers raised the tariff for electricity for the population from June 1 from UAH 1.68/kWh to UAH 2.64/kWh.
Also, from July 1, NEURC increased the tariff for cold water, but canceled this decision.
