Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest company has specialized in making plates for body armor, the company’s CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov said on Thursday, March 31st.
“We have mastered the manufacture of armor plates for bulletproof vests at our production sites, and now we have moved more than 2,000 such plates – they have already been used to make bulletproof vests for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thero armor and national police., “he said.
Ryzhenkov added that the company also buys helmets, first aid kits and body armor from abroad.
In addition, since the beginning of the war, Metinvest has donated more than 40,000 hedgehogs and more than 10,000 special spiked chains against wheeled vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The company is also moving metal so that contractors and partners can also make anti-tank hedgehogs and chains in their businesses,” Ryzhenkov shared.
In total, Metinvest has allocated 10 million euros for the purchase of protective equipment and first aid kits for the Ukrainian defense industry.
