It is planned that at the beginning of the heating season, 20 units will remain under repair, and until December 31 – nine units.
On August 1, 36 units of the state-owned hydroelectric power plant were placed for repair. Igor Sirota, General Director of Ukrhydroenergo, said this in an interview with Energobusiness.
“We have 36 units that are under repair, which are undergoing reconstruction, overhaul and current repairs. We plan that at the beginning of the heating season, 20 units will remain under repair, and nine units until December 31,” he said.
Sirota noted that due to the long floods (from early February to June), the company was forced to move the start of preparations to the autumn-winter period.
The general director of Ukrhydroenergo also analyzed the losses from the Russian explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
“We lost a station with a capacity of 343 MW, it produced 1.2-1.5 billion kWh per year, which on average corresponds to a loss of UAH 4.5 billion per year. In addition, we have to add the cost of the station itself, the bridge crossing, railway, gas pipeline, which need to be restored,” he said.
According to Sirota, the book value of the Kakhovskaya HPP itself is about 500 million euros. The head of Ukrhydroenergo added that the damage to agriculture and environmental consequences can be calculated in a year.
As you know, in Ukraine there is a campaign to repair power plants before the heating season.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will build a new station on the site of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station destroyed by the Russians – even more powerful. At the same time, the cost of the new hydroelectric power station could reach $1 billion.
