The state concern Ukroboronprom was reorganized into JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry as part of corporatization. This was announced by the Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin on Telegram on Thursday evening.

“We are starting changes in the steel” of the country’s largest defense company. Change is an important step. From now on, the activities of the state concern Ukroboronprom have been terminated. At the same time, a joint-stock company of the Ukrainian defense industry was created,” he wrote.

According to the minister, the next step is the transfer of personnel, the transfer of property and further change process, and then the formation of a supervisory board in accordance with OECD standards.

As a reminder, from June 28, the government appointed German Smetanin as the general director of the Ukrainian Defense Industry JSC (Ukroboronprom) for a period until the formation of the supervisory board and the holding of the competition for this position. Previously, he headed the State Enterprise Zavod im. Malysheva, which is part of the state concern. Before that, Ukroboronprom was headed by Yury Gusev.
