Alternative measures are being actively developed and are actually being finalized, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy assured.
The government of Ukraine and the participants in the grain market have developed several alternative strategies to continue the export of agricultural products in the event of the termination of the grain corridor. This is what First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said on the air of the telethon on Monday, June 26.

“We have several strategies: it is to expand the capacity of the Danube region and increase the capacity for transshipment of grain there. The commissioning of additional crossing points and dry ports on the western border with Poland and Romania continues too,” he said.
The official recalled that the state budget for 2023 provides 20 billion hryvnias for the potential insurance of ships with grain, which will be ready to continue working in the absence of the grain corridor.
“Alternative measures are being actively developed, are actually being finalized and should help Ukraine continue to contribute to international food security and ensure exports,” he assured.
Vysotsky expressed the hope that, financially, the indicators of agricultural exports will be close to last year, because the price dynamics change every day.
“Information about unfavorable conditions in the United States has affected corn, the prices for which have increased. Therefore, it is too early to talk about the final prices for cereals. The they will be known closer to September, when the growing season in our hemisphere ends. In the end, even with the minimum deviation , but exports will approach last year’s numbers,” he hoped.
Remember, on May 17, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia agreed to extend the grain agreement for another two months – until July 18. But after some time, the UN said that the grain agreement not fully functional.
Last week, the Foreign Ministry said it expected Russia to withdraw from the grain deal.
