ZNPP power units have been out of operation since September 2022. Therefore, active evaporation of water from the cooling pond does not occur.
The situation at Zaporizhzhya NPP remains stable and under control, but a slight drop in the water level in the plant’s cooling unit was recorded. This was reported by NAEK Energoatom on Friday.
“At 06:00 on June 23, a slight drop in the water level in the cooling pond was recorded. Today it is 16.60 m. This is enough to meet the needs of the station,” the message said.
It was noted that the water level in the TPP canal, from which, if necessary, the Zaporizhzhya NPP is fed, is at a level of 11.15 m. The company noted that recently the water level in the canal has not dropped significantly, its indicators are no longer dependent on the Kakhovka reservoir.
“The ZNPP power units have been out of operation since September 2022, so since then there has been no active evaporation of water from the cooling pond,” the source added. Energoatom.
It will be remembered that yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is preparing to carry out a terrorist attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which could lead to the release of radiation. Literally an hour later, the Kremlin reacted to Zelensky’s words.
Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, said that the invaders were also mining the cooler at ZNPP.
