Gas prices in Ukraine are falling for the eighth month in a row, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.
Natural gas prices in Ukraine are decreasing for the eighth month in a row, the price of natural gas in Ukraine in May 2023 reached UAH 11,163.77 per 1,000 cubic meters without VAT, which is 22.4% lower than a month earlier. The Ministry of Economy reported this on Wednesday, June 7.
The average price of gas is calculated according to the formula for the purpose of the Tax Code of Ukraine to collect rent for the use of subsoil.
According to the ministry, the average price fell to the lowest since the beginning of calculating the indicator in March last year. Over the past year, the price has nearly tripled. As of May 2022, it will be UAH 31,175 per 1,000 cubic meters without VAT.
It will be recalled that this month, gas prices in Europe fell to their lowest level in more than two years. The price of TFT gas in the Netherlands fell to 24.2 euros per megawatt-hour (about $275 per thousand cubic meters). At the same time, gas reserves in European UGS facilities have already exceeded 70%.
