“The price of building a new hydroelectric power plant can cost about $1 billion, because it is not only about installing new hydroelectric units, but also about restoring the integrity of a large dam. It will take at least five years to restore the dam alone. , and the combined impact of the humanitarian and environmental consequences of the explosion will only increase” – said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.
The department called the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station dam by Russian aggressors one of the biggest man-made disasters in Europe in recent decades. As a result of another crime of the Russian Federation, up to 80 settlements may be flooded, part of the local flora and fauna may be destroyed, several million people may be left without drinking water, food security and other disasters that consequences are under threat.
“Now Ukraine needs urgent help in minimizing and eliminating the consequences of the explosion in the interest of all humanity. First of all, we are talking about dismantling and building from scratch an entire complex of a new hydroelectric power station. just rise,” Sviridenko stressed.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine will build a new station on the site of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station destroyed by the Russians – a more powerful one. This was said by the General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota.
