The European Commission has extended until mid-September the ban on the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine to five EU countries. This was reported on Monday, June 5, by RAR, citing an EC source.
“The European Commission has extended until mid-September the European ban on the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine,” the source said.
Remember, on May 2, the European Commission banned the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds of Ukrainian origin in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia for the period until June 5, 2023.
After that, it became known that Hungary applied to the EU with a request to extend restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grains and oilseeds for five Eastern European countries until the end of 2023.
In this regard, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski proposed to extend the ban until the end of October.
