Only in May of this year, more than 3.4 million tons of grain and legumes were exported from Ukraine.
In the current marketing year (MY) – from July 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023 – Ukraine exported 45.29 million tons of grain and legumes. This was announced by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food this Wednesday.
In particular, Ukraine exported 15.442 million tons of wheat, 2.647 million tons of barley, 17.9 thousand tons of rye and 26.868 million tons of corn.
For comparison: from July 2021 to May 31, 2022, Ukraine exported 47.011 million tons of grain and legumes, including 18.57 million tons of wheat, 5.679 million tons of barley, 161.9 thousand tons of rye and 22.295 million tons of corn.
In May this year, Ukraine exported 3.403 million tons of cereals and legumes (in May last year – 1.142 million tons), including 1.044 million tons of wheat (in May last year – 44 thousand tons ), 182 thousand tons of barley (in May 2022. – 11 thousand tons) and 2.17 million tons of corn (1.084 million tons). In May this year and in May last year, Ukraine did not export rye.
From the beginning of MY 2022/2023, Ukraine exported 141.5 thousand tons of flour (in MY 2021/2022 – 71 thousand tons).
Remember that Ukraine still has about 10 million tons of transitional grain from previous seasons that needs to be exported.
