Ukraine has passed the first revision of the International Monetary Fund’s four-year program and will receive $900 million in the second tranche. This was announced by the head of the IMF mission, Gavin Gray, reports economic reality.
“I am pleased to announce that IMF representatives and the Ukrainian authorities have reached a staff-level agreement on the first revision of the EFF program. This agreement still needs to be approved by the IMF board, and the corresponding analysis will take place in the coming weeks,” he said.
Gray noted that Ukraine achieved a significant result in meeting the requirements of the program and complied with all the main points provided for the end of May 2023.
A successful revision of the program will allow Ukraine to attract the second tranche of the IMF loan in the amount of $900 million. The total cost of the IMF program is 15.6 billion dollars, of which Ukraine has already received 2.7 billion dollars in the form of the first tranche.
Remember, on March 31, the IMF Board approved a four-year program for Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion.
